The 2024 APEA Live Review and Clinical Update presents essential primary care education for FNP and AGPCNP certification candidates and practicing NPs in a format that is engaging, efficient, and effective. The 2024 course program features the following:

  • 2 days of live lectures encompassing content covered on the AANP and ANCC exams for family practice and adult-gerontology primary care practice
  • One view of the recorded version of the Live Course (must be completed within 30 days of the event)
  • For FNPs and FNP candidates, videotaped lectures on Care of Aging Adults for FNPs, Pediatrics, Pediatric Growth & Development, Pregnancy in Primary Care, Sexually Transmitted Infections, Professional Issues, Study Strategies, Practice question set 1 and set 2, Course evaluation and certificate; accessible after the course
  • For AGNPs and AGNP primary care candidates, videotaped lectures on Care of the Aging Adult, Pregnancy in Primary Care, Sexually Transmitted Infections, Professional Issues, Study Strategies, Practice Question set 1 and set 2 , Course evaluation and certificate; accessible after the course
  • Printed spiral-bound course manual with room for notes; provided at check in

During APEA onsite events, the wearing of masks is optional. However, APEA strongly encourages attendees who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 to wear masks. Due the popularity of APEA courses, it is not possible to maintain a distance of 6 feet between attendees during an event.

APEA attendees receive a discounted rate of $219.00/night and free in-room wifi. You must call the hotel prior to FRIDAY, FEB. 14, 2023 and indicate you are with the APEA group or click HERE to be taken directly to the discounted room link for APEA at the Hilton. Rate is subject to applicable taxes and fees. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is at noon.


Hotel Cancellation Policy: Free cancellation within 48 hours of your reservation. Otherwise, a fee of one night's stay will be charged.

Lindsey Luther
Lindsey Luther
DNP, APRN, FNP-C, CNE

Lindsey Luther is a family nurse practitioner who teaches the APEA Review Course & Clinical Update for FNPs and AGPCNPs and develops content for APEA education programs. Dr. Luther is a certified nurse educator and earned a certificate in evidence-based practice in 2020. She was an assistant professor, associate professor and FNP Team Lead at Mount Carmel College of Nursing before joining APEA. While a faculty member, Dr. Luther was awarded a grant to learn innovating teaching strategies and published multiple articles in academic journals. Her past clinical experience includes perioperative practice in outpatient and inpatient settings, and her current clinical practice is in nutrition and weight loss treatment at Central Ohio Nutrition Center. She also serves as a programming consultant to the Institute for Trauma and Psychological Safety, providing expertise on trauma-informed healthcare and educational design. Dr. Luther is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Jennifer B. Smith, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, ENP-C

Jennifer Smith is a family nurse practitioner with clinical experience in multiple settings, including primary care and emergency medicine. She teaches the APEA Review Course & Clinical Update for FNPs and AGPCNPs and has earned dual certification as a family nurse practitioner and an emergency nurse practitioner. Smith has been a nurse practitioner since 2013. During her years in clinical practice, she remained closely tied to education by serving as an adjunct faculty member and guest lecturer at Spalding University School of Nursing. In addition, she took leadership and teaching roles in her clinical settings to precept NP students and to train and onboard newly hired NPs. Smith is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives, and Sigma Theta Tau.

Janette Bowers
Janette Bowers

Janette Bowers, DNP, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner who has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including emergency medicine, critical care, cardiovascular surgery, family practice, and HIV medicine. She teaches the APEA Live Review Course & Clinical Update for FNPs and AGPCNPs as well as NCLEX review courses for APEA’s parent company, ATI. Dr. Bowers is an assistant professor at the University of the Virgin Islands and practices in an underserved clinic, working mainly with HIV-positive patients and the homeless population on the island of St. Croix, USVI. Dr. Bowers has received a state award for excellence from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and a leadership award from Frontier Nursing University.

Live Course Guarantee

In the rare case you are not successful on the FNP or AGPCNP exam from AANP or ANCC, you can take an APEA review course again free of charge for up to 1 year from the original course date. The APEA Live Course Guarantee is simple to redeem. Just send an email to questions@apea.com and include a copy of your score report. We will confirm that you completed the Live Course and its supplemental materials prior to testing. Recording Policy

Video or audio recording of any portion of a live course is a violation of federal law and is prohibited. Violators will be removed from the course and will not receive a refund.

Live Course Onsite Cancellation Policy

All cancellation requests must be made via an email sent to questions@apea.com. APEA will provide a one-time transfer to a different course at no charge. Cancellations received more than 6 weeks before the course start date will incur a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations received within 6 weeks of the course start date will incur a $200 cancellation fee. No refunds are provided to registrants who do not show up for a course. In the highly unlikely event that an APEA course is canceled, APEA will issue a full refund. APEA is not responsible for any travel, lodging, or other expenses associated with a course cancellation.

Attendance Policy

To earn and obtain contact hours for a live event (review course or continuing education course), you must attend 100% of the event. Partial credit is not provided, per our CE accreditation body. If you are unable to attend a portion of a live review or CE course, you must notify us in advance. Contact hours are not awarded for any portion of a course that is missed. Refunds are not provided for no shows at any review course or continuing education course. In addition, course transfers are not available after a no show at any review course or continuing education course.

Animal Policy

Live animals are prohibited at APEA review courses, with the exception of animals that serve a guide or service function as defined by Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA defines service animals as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.

Registration And Admission Policy

APEA reserves the right to accept or decline an individual’s registration for a live course. In addition, APEA reserves the right to prohibit entry of, or to remove, any person (whether registered or not) whose conduct or attendance is not in keeping with the character and purpose of an APEA live course. Without limiting the foregoing, APEA reserves the right to remove or refuse entry to anyone who has registered or gained access under false pretenses, provided false information, or for any other reason APEA deems is cause under the circumstances..
