Kirby Williams, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner who teaches the PMHNP review for APEA. Williams has been a board-certified PMHNP since 2011. She owns a private practice and consulting service based in Richmond, VA, as well as a professional development and mentoring service for new NPs in the psychiatric-mental health specialty. Williams has served as an instructor of psychiatric-mental health nursing and as adjunct graduate nursing faculty; both positions were at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her clinical experience encompasses PMHNP positions in public health and outpatient primary care settings. Williams serves as a clinical preceptor for PMHNP students and has been honored by the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority (Hero Award, 2020) and the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (True Collaboration Award, 2014).
